Contemporary Art Furniture by Julian Hamer
Contemporary Art Furniture offers a new and uniquely beautiful direction in furniture design. The pieces embody the liveliness of sculptural themes resolved into a satisfying composition. The intent is that each piece should stand alone, like a sculpture not requiring a lot of applied detail or fussy moulding. The form itself, speaks for itself without extemporaneous detail. Every aspect of these pieces belongs and enhances the entire composition.
Creating heirlooms of tomorrow, each piece combines solid, enduring construction and graceful proportions, complementing the natural beauty of the finest domestic and exotic hardwoods. The table shown in the picture above is solid South American Bloodwood. The only hardwood used in this piece is Bloodwood. The black areas are black lacquer over the same wood.
Each piece combines the modern aesthetic taste for clean lines and innovative features, using woods of rich exotic color and texture. The proportions represent the "golden ratio" as exemplified in classical architecture. The angle of the table edge, pedestal and pedestal support is consistently 15 degrees.
